I ordered this book soon after discovering the work of the lettering artist behind the cover. Mary Kate McDevitt's work is also featured within this book, but it's so much more than a single artist or designer. Despite its size, the "Little Book of Lettering" isn't actually so little. It's hardbound with quality materials, and each page features a different person's work.Even better, the quality of selections included in this book is quite diverse, and even features some superstars whose work you may have seen (especially if you're a designer). You can tell the collection was curated by someone who truly appreciates the art of lettering.For any designer, this is a must-have book.For any non-designers, you'll definitely enjoy the creative talent contained within!

If you have a friend who's into all of those lettering Instagram accounts, then you found yourself a solid birthday/christmas/house warming gift. Perfect coffee table book for that basic, I mean, artsy girl in your life. It's small, too, so she can throw it in a box and forget about it after the trend dies down. Content wise, don't expect an encyclopedia. It's more of a skim through and look at the pictures kind of book. Regardless, she will appreciate how creative you were for googling "lettering book."

This is an extended magazine article, not quite a little book, if you ask me. Very small samples of the artist's work and from my point, not much all that inspiring. It's clear we are not in a new golden age of hand lettering. The best examples of people influenced by past masters but from a technique standpoint, they fall very short.

This book has been a delight. There is so much inspiration in it's pages, then it has a whole section devoted to inspiring you and giving you the space to do so. I enjoy the prompts and the visual inspiration, just be prepared to spend a lot of time with this one.

This book is not what I expected. I wanted something to help me grow in my hand lettering skills, but this doesn't do that. It is just small pictures and very short descriptions of other people's work. Much of it was messy and uninteresting as well.If you're looking for something to inspire you in your own hand lettering, don't waste your money on this book.

Such a beautiful book! I bought it as a Birthday gift for a friend who is a graphic designer. It was so darling and interesting I almost couldn't give it away, Ha! I love how it shows the lettering and the story of the artist behind it. It only makes sense that a book about lettering would be a work of art :)

When I bought this book, the description (which it appears may have since been changed) gave me the impression that this would give at least some instruction or information on how to do your own lettering. What it is instead, is a collection of samples of various artists' work, with some very basic description of their methods, inspiration etc. If you're looking for inspiration, and pretty pictures, this is great. If you're looking for a book to assist on developing your own writing, this falls short.

Informative, educational, easy to read and easy on the eyes, lots and lots of good, quality photos. I highly recommend for gifting, or keep it for yourself.

If you're getting into slow cooking because you hate cooking and don't have a lot of money, don't get this book.The reason I bought a crock pot is because I hate cooking and I don't want to put the effort in. I think most people would agree that that is the beauty of crock pot cooking: put it on, let it cook, eat, easy clean up. This book has very little in the way of easy recipes. To be fair, no where on the book does it say that the recipes are easy, but I mean, come on, right? I've flipped through it a dozen times and although there is a lot of stuff in it I want to eat, there is pretty much nothing in it that I want to cook. Everything either require's too many ingredients that I don't keep or requires too much effort and defeats the entire purpose of a crock pot.That said, the book itself is very nice, the recipes are written well and the pictures are nice and glossy. It's easy to understand and it's got a really handy metric conversion chart, which I will probably end up using more than the actual book.

I would like to start by writing that I'm in a specific phase of slow cooker/crock pot recipes. I really want old school but still tasty. I don't mind the "cream of soups" for the base. This one just isn't what I had hoped. I have 4 other crock pot books that I love and have bookmarked up a lot. The simple recipes in this book are too simple. The more complex, just didn't strike me. I know that food is very, very personal and subjective. Maybe the books I have listed below would appeal to more than just me. Those below I have used and used. I also have many of the Gooseberry Patch Kindle slow cooker ones. I basically have some format of slow cooker cookbooks coming out of my ears. Sorry for the just OK review but sometimes it's good to know there are some of us who landed in the middle.They are:The Fix-It and Forget-It Big CookbookTaste Of Home Slow Cooker Throughout The YearThe Crockin Girls It's Our Crockin LifeThe Crockin Girls Slow Cookin Companion

It's not a bad cookbook, just leaves a lot to be desired. That said, I would like more recipes that are simple, with a short list of ingredients, with items you can find easily at your nearest grocery store, plus fewer recipes that call for precooking in a skillet. Crock-pot recipes should be made for people who don't have a lot of time to cook. Some of the recipes worked easily and were delicious.

Most of the recipes seem to require other cooking prep -- saute, bake, fry, etc., prior to cooking for just an hour or two in crockpot. This defeats my purpose for using a crockpot (set it up, go, come home to cooked meal).

Bought this book, made a couple recipes. However, dissappointed that theres before prep. I was hoping it would just have meals to toss in and leave for the day to cook. Sticking to Google and Tasty videos. Alot of great options and categories though.

Same complaint as others here. Although this cookbook has delicious recipes and great pictures and is huge, these are not â€œ fix and forgetâ€ recipes to prepare at the start of the day then eat later. They basically have you do all the work of making dinner , just in the morning. Defeats the purpose of crockpotting. Some recipes call for additional preparations halfway through, or an hour before eating. Same work as any other cookbook.

The pages are thick and the pictures do the food justice. As to what other reviewers are complaining about, yes it takes some cooking and preparing time but no where in the description or the cover does it state that its fast and easy. There are several crock pot recipe books that state on the cover five items or less and easy crock pot recipes etc. So if that is something that you are looking for then I would advised against using this book. But if you are wanting to use your CrockPot to make naturally hard dishes this book is the way to go. It is broken up by breakfast, appetizers, stews, soups, chilis, chicken, beef, seafood, and desserts. I just received mine yesterday and have already planned the six meals that I will be making this week!

While the recipes look interesting, they lack very important information. Which slow cooker size should you use with each recipe? Sure, you can read the liquid content for each recipe and calculate it yourself, but shouldn't the recipe already do that for you? Very few recipes in this cookbook explicitly state what size to use.Also, the beauty of using a slow cooker is that you can dump a bunch of ingredients in the cooker, cook it for many house, and BAM - you have a meal. You don't have to use multiple pots/pans to prepare the dish. Not so with a lot of recipes in this book. For example, with several of the meat recipes, you cook the meat and then place it in the slow cooker. Geez - if I wanted to do that, I would just prepare the recipe as normal and skip the slow cooker.Unfortunately, this cookbook - issued from the makers of a line of slow cookers, no less - does not take advantage of all the great things about a slow cooker. It is a shame because some of the recipes sound really delicious.

My interest in this book was medical perspective of MJ's death. If you want to read about MJ's life, this may not be what you're looking for.We've all heard the axiom that the cover-up is worse than the crime, but never is that more apparent than in this account of the last hours of Michael Jackson's life. Endless excuses and revised timelines by the doctor in the house are examined carefully and contrasted with evidence in the form of records showing that Dr. C's story as told by him (in multiple versions and reversions) fell far from meeting the evidence that showed he was not at the bedside, and not in attendance at the times claimed.It's a pretty sad commentary on all the people and agencies who stood to benefit from MJ's death. MJ was bankrupt and said himself that he was worth more dead than alive. The multiple doctors treating him apparently didn't communicate with one another. Anyone who's worked in the medical field knows propofol is strictly an inpatient therapy, but the quantities and purchases of this and many other drugs by Dr. C to treat MJ are startling.Polypharmacy to the extreme, mixed with a doctor who would only be paid if his patient performed (in a scheduled tour). Not defending anybody as there are no winners in this sad situation, but 83 Minutes makes a convincing case that this particular death was entirely predictable and totally preventable.

I spent too much on this book. It is full of conjecture and imaginary scenarios. The last 31% is end notes. The author repeats himself to make the book seem longer than it is. I'm so disappointed in myself for paying the ridiculous price of $14.95. Spare yourself the suffering of buying this book.

I have read a lot about Michael and his surroundings, background and career. This book is one of the neutral ones of which you think: yes, this can be. There is no air of garbage about it. The author doesn't take anyone's side but simply writes what could be. I'm very closely following anything about Michael. I'm no fan but I knew him.

awesome book, very in depth account of the day's-hours leading up to and what medications he was given before he died. Would recomend this book if you would like to know what and how Michael Jackson died and why. Well written and researched.

Since I followed the trials most of this info was not new. The side bar comments and ultra detailed commentary was condescending, on left field tangents, and at times annoying, in my opinion

The front cover is deceiving. It shows a "Boston Terrier" for example as being in a normal position & not comical which made me think other pets inside the cover were normal as well. Instead the other patterns showed comical pets which may be ok for others but it's not what I wanted. Would I recommend it? Yes & No. I would if you're looking for comical patterns; but if you're not then no I wouldn't recommend it.
