If you like steampunk mixed with magic, angels, aliens and the metaphysical sciences- you’ll love this series. I started reading the prequel focused on Detective Dolly Williamson. I finished that and went straight on into the guild chronicles 1-3 that center around the character of sister rose. Great reading and I can’t wait for the fourth book!
DO buy this book if you are looking for a new world of stories set in an alternate history with sky references to historical figures. DON’T buy this book if you are looking for well written prose or decent editing. The language is sloppy, the grammar and punctuation are atrocious. There are errors in every page, with several chapters repeated. The style is erratic with some sections flowing with description and others staccato - more like bullet points that are yet to be filled in. Mixing your and you’re, who’s and whose, were and where, just a few of the irritations that await the reader. The storyline just about balances the quality of the (un)finished product
