The first thing I noticed as I started reading this book was that I felt empowered. I’ve been battling with anxiety and panic attacks for a very long time and for the first time the fog is starting to lift. I’ve paid well-meaning counselors thousands of dollars over the years who all recommended relaxation techniques and loved talking about my past. None of that helped.This book has given me insights I’ve never been taught before, for less than 20 bucks. I can’t believe it. I was able to successfully fend off a panic attack yesterday thanks to just one of the techniques, and there are so many more.I’m going to be reading and rereading this book over and over again. It’s my Bible against anxiety from now on.Thank you Geert for sharing all of your insights! This is a life-changing book.

I think what I like the most about Geert's stuff is that he gives you so many examples and metaphors about how to attack Anxiety and/or see the world in a total different way that it's kinda easy to get it. Also, I've caught myself putting together several of his ideas like pieces of a big puzzle and you can notice that you have created a system that attacks anxiety effectively. For example: in some cases I say to myself, this is a situation where I can use the metaphor of the Knight and the Coward or in a different instance I can use the total acceptance and say, Whatever happens it's ok!I've lived my whole life, 45 years, full of anxiety. And after just a little bit more of 2 months I am starting to feel better and see life in a different way.His audio course is awesome too!Thumbs up! 👍🏻👍🏻Leo.

I have read a lot of books about Anxiety and Panic attacks, and this book is hands down the best I have ever read. It's really helpful and funny!If you suffer from anxiety or panic attacks and you are unsure about what to do about them, then this book is for you.The biggest surprise to me was that I had been doing it all wrong for over a decade. Here I was fighting against my anxiety, thinking about it constantly, checking in all the time...but what I never realized was that I was feeding my anxiety because of it!I never understood how to be in control. Now I do!The solution doesn't lie in resisting it, fighting it, trying not to think about it. It lies in allowing our nervous system to calm down, in our ''Fire Alarm system'' (as Geert calls it) to become less sensitive so it doesn't launch into danger-mode at will.This is the most important and transformational book I've ever read.You will love this book! Read it!

I have suffered from anxiety as nd panic attacks for over 20 years. I had tried just about anything to get over them and nothing worked until I listened to Geerts audio program and read this book. PLEASE if you are suffering from anxiety disorder and panic attacks, invest in yourself and get his audio program and this book. It saved my life when I thought I would never be able to get over my anxiety and panic attacks and it will help you too!!

This book was very insightful and motivating towards conquering panic attacks or anxiety. Being a prior active duty Marine and now a full time college student, I never thought I would suffer from anxiety until I had to make life and career changes. I also purchased his audiobook which is AMAZING in conjunction with this book. Geert has really opened up my eyes to a ton of useful new information. I recommend this book to anyone who is unsure of their anxiety or panic attacks and want to get it under control. No matter who you are (male or female) or what you do, you are not alone. It works!

I started having panic attacks while driving in October and became stuck at home only able to leave the house when hubby could drive me. I just finished reading this book in March and that night I used the techniques in this book and drove. That was yesterday! Today I drove again. Highly recommend this book. I think this book must be saving lives every day. I ordered it for a loved one who suddenly began having anxiety attacks a few weeks ago, and they were accelerating in severity at a horrible pace. The night I downloaded this book to Kindle, the person stayed up much of the night reading it cover to cover and began to improve that very same day. We've since found that psychiatrists like this book and like the science behind it. They encourage its use. It truly does work, even for severe anxiety, and its methods even help me with some occasional claustrophobia. If you're an anxiety sufferer, read the book from front to back, no skipping ahead! Then re-read it when you have lapses, and believe what he says. Also, Geert has some additional helpful tools that you can access for free; he tells how in the book, and I know they were a big help as well. Thanks, Geert. You're walking on the side of the angels.

I'm pretty new to anxiety and have only been having panic attacks in the last year. This past week was the worst of my life, having multiple attacks all through the day and night and not being able to sleep more than a few hours each night. My amygdala was on overdrive and I was stuck! The ironic thing is that I am a therapist and I thought I knew all the coping skills I needed to know. They didn't work for me though. Watching endless YouTube videos and Ted Talks didn't help either. I was so desperate for something, and then I read this book. I've noticed a drastic improvement in the last couple days, and I know it's only getting better each day. I will be eternally thankful. Thank you Geert!!
